ALIGARH: A pilot training small plane crashed in a village at Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh on Friday afternoon. A pilot died in the crash and the trainee pilot has been admitted to a local medical facility in serious condition.
The trainee two-seater plane belonged to Pioneer Flying Club. According to information, the plane was on a routine flight during which a trainee pilot IP Reddy, hailing from Andhra was being trained by the pilot Rajesh Grover, hailing from Nagpur.The plane could not reach the desired height and crashed some 2 kilometre away from the air strip, in a village called Khangadhi. Both pilots were rescued from the plane and rushed to a nearby medical facility with serious injuries. Grover died while being treated at the hospital while Reddy is battling for his life.
Police officials told this news portal that the plane did not catch fire as the place on which it crashed was full of rain water. Had this not been the case, both the pilots would have been charred to death.
